Principal's Updates - 11/06/2020
The teachers, students, and I cannot wait to be back together again on Monday morning! Teaching and learning remotely is not an easy thing and yet the teachers seem to handle it with confidence and only want the best for your children.
As I have said, pivoting to remote learning was a difficult decision because it impacted so many people. I hope that you have faith and trust in me to know that I will not take a decision like this lightly and that I rely on the expertise of various health organizations and science.
We all know that students need to be in person learning but sometimes the risk overrides the reward of being together. We all need to remain healthy and safe if we are to continue educating your children.
I cannot express what it has meant to me that you shared your positive experiences of the last 8 days and your gratitude for my staff. I would not wish this responsibility on anyone. It is truly immense. Please know that I am not asking for your sympathy as I know God has a plan for all of us and mine is to continue working hard on behalf of you and your children. Together, with support and understanding, we will come out of this unprecedented time stronger than before.
Please spread the word for our 1st ever Drive-Thru Veteran's Day/Grandparent's Day celebration on Tuesday, November 10th at 10am! It is so important for the students and staff to show our unending support for those who have risked their lives to ensure that we enjoy the freedoms we do and to thank our grandparents for the gifts they are to us.
We will be kicking off a Day of Giving on December 1st! This endeavor is spearheaded by Elizabeth Eddy, our Advancement and Enrollment Director. We are hoping to raise $30,000 in one day. All donations received during this 24 hour campaign will benefit the Excellence Fund, providing
financial support for operational expenses, including teacher salaries, enhancements to
infrastructure, scholarships, enrichment and programmatic initiatives for all students from our Early Learners through Grade 8. More information to come!!
God Bless you all and enjoy a wonderful weekend with your incredible children.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
