Principal's Updates - 10/2/2020
Happy October! We have successfully been in school for 1 month! Grades 2-8 finished their NWEA/MAPS testing this week. I am pleased to say that overall our students are scoring higher than the average in Redding and Math. This is an indication to me that our remote instruction and summer reinforcement were done well. Teachers will be using the data captured in this reports and planning instruction going forward. I could not be more pleased!
I know with staggered arrival and dismissal parking and drop off/pickup can be challenging. If you are using Ridge Road please be respectful of all other commuters. A quick drop off or pickup at the sidewalk is fine but sitting in the middle of the street waiting is not. Traffic will back up onto Brook Road and that is dangerous. If your child isn't there park along the sidewalk or go around the block and come back. Thank you in advance for your attention to tis important matter.
I hope that you all took advantage of the Virtual Back to School Night events that the teachers hosted. I know that Grade 5 will have theirs next week. This was a great opportunity to hear about curriculum and expectations and to meet your child/children's teachers.
Next Tuesday we have student picture day. Please fill out the form you received and your child can dress in appropriate attire.
If anyone has connections with an exterior painter please send them my way. In an effort to continue to improve our grounds I want the school name lettering on the building painted Navy blue and the cross Gold. Thank you so much!
God Bless you all and enjoy a wonderful weekend with your incredible children.
