Principal's Updates - 12/13/19

Dear St. Mary of the Hills Families,

I hope that you are all staying warm and dry on this rainy Saturday. We had a fun and busy week at St Mary of the Hills. We are really getting into the spirit of Christmas. Our Christmas Concert on Tuesday night was so well done. I was very proud of my students and their teachers for preparing them so well. The church looked beautiful and the children were dressed in their Sunday best! It really put everyone in the holiday spirit.

On Thursday night the Middle School drama students performed their annual Christmas play. We have such a talented group of thespians! Thank you to Mrs. Etienne and all of the volunteers who were instrumental in the performance.

Friday the students in K-3 did their annual service program called Christmas for the Animals. They had such a wonderful time making tasty treats for all our animal friends that visit our school property. This is done every year to honor the life of St Francis of Assisi.

All of our children made beautiful Christmas cards for the men and women at the Shattuck Shelter. Middle school students prepared bags of candy to be delivered to them as well.

On a sad note one of our parents of an alum, Mr. Fonseca, died this past week. Mr. Fonseca brought his love of music to the students at St Mary of the Hills through his business "All Hands Drumming". He and his daughter Ana played before the Lion King play last spring and he offered his services to the students at Summer on the Hill this past summer. He will be missed. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Enjoy the rest of this weekend with your beautiful family.

God Bless,

Mrs. Julie Marotta ~ Principal
