Thank you to those of you who came to our annual Back to School Night. I hope that you enjoyed meeting the teachers and hearing about all the expectations for the year.
This week we started NWEA/MAPS assessments for Grades 2-8. We are assessing the students in Reading, Math, and Language Usage. The results of these tests help guide the instruction in the classrooms. Areas of student strengths and weaknesses are identified which allows us to better develop lessons that continue to grow the knowledge of every student.
There has been so much learning happening in the classes that I visit. Students are engaged in investigations, cooperative learning, creating, questioning, and growing deeper in their faith. We have the kindest, respectful, and hardworking students and I am so proud to work along side them each day.
Our 6th graders went to Fenway Park on Thursday for a STEM Day. They had a great day of learning about our solar system through hands on activities and presentations from scientists from NASA. After enjoying their lunch the students got to experience a Red Sox ballgame!
As I have been mentioning enrollment is up! Thank you for helping us spread the word about St Mary of the Hills. I am so grateful!
