Principal's Updates - 5/24/19
Good afternoon everyone! We had such a great week once again. I was very fortunate to have been able to attend the 5th Grade Multi-Genre Night on Tuesday. The students did such a great job educating everyone on their special person and/or event. I really liked how they tied in Multi-Cultural Night by choosing someone or something from their culture to research.
I also got to share in the release of the 1st Grade butterflies. They did such a wonderful job researching the stages of development from caterpillar to butterfly. The looks on their faces when they released them I will treasure forever.
On Thursday one of our 7th Graders, Santana Gabriel, received his Baptism and 1st Eucharist. It was a desire of his to join the Catholic Church and we could not be more proud of him!
This morning we had a planned Skype Call with two of the lost boys of South Sudan. We won this in the challenge to raise money to restore a well in South Sudan. Unfortunately, rain in Africa did not allow the transmission to happen. We will do this again at another date. I am so proud of our school. We raised the $3000 required to restore a well!
We were blessed with such great weather today for our annual Field day! the students had so much fun. They even got to see their Principal get slimed and dunked in the dunk tank! Some of the staff got in on the fun too including Mr. A. who sat for a Mohawk!
I hope that you all enjoy the long weekend with your beautiful friends and families. Happy Memorial Day!
Mrs. Julie Marotta
