Principal's Updates - 4/26/19
We came back from Spring Break and hit the ground running! Monday we enjoyed many activities to celebrate Earth Day thanks to Ms. Veitz and the members of the Conservation Club! On Tuesday we celebrated World Book Day! Many staff members and students dressed up as their favorite literary characters, enjoyed many hands on learning experiences, Community members read to the students, school-wide DEAR time happened, and a collaboration between grades created a unique story . Many thanks to Mrs. Faherty (Mother Goose) for coordinating this very special day! On Wednesday our Middle School students participated in our annual Science Fair. I was so proud of all of their hard work and effort to create meaningful research and then present their findings in such a professional way. Well done Ms. Veitz and her students!
I hope that many of you can attend the annual Walk for Haiti on Sunday. It will begin with an 8:00 am Mass at St Mary of the Hills. All are welcome! Many thanks to Mrs. Etienne and Mrs. Vasta for keeping this important tradition alive.
The month of May will be extremely busy. There will be two major fundraisers that will take the place of the annual Gala. As you may or may not be aware the school has been doing all of it's fundraising, except for the lunch program, without the aid of a formal PTO. This has proved very challenging. This year there will be a Fun Run on may 17th. The funds raised will go towards Campus Improvements and Programming needs. The other major event is a Carnival. I have hired Fiesta Shows to operate a 3 day Carnival on our field from May 31st through June 2nd.Our 1st ever Multi Cultural Night will be here on Monday May 13th. We are so excited for it! Keep reading your emails on all of the happenings. There will be many!
As always I hope that you have a fun weekend filled with family time and moments that you will always treasure.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
