Principal's Update - 1/25/19
Good afternoon everyone. What a week! Once again I apologize for having to close school on Tuesday. In the future we will be sending texts and phone calls in addition to the emails. Even though the school grounds had been previously treated a layer of ice formed that could not be successfully treated in time for arrival. The timing was unfortunate as Milton Public Schools had decided to open. In case of school closing we follow the Milton Public Schools but measures are now in place to do a separate closing of our campus. Once again I cannot express how sorry I am for the inconvenience that this may have caused many of you.
Middle school students are finishing their NWEA/MAPS assessments today. The data collected is used to determine teaching practices that assure that all students are growing in their learning. Our half day next Friday will be used to analyze the data and have departmental meetings to discuss strategies needed to end the year with the largest growth percentages so far. The literacy and math coaches will offer supports in small groups and inclusion models within the classrooms.
Next week is Catholic Schools Week. This is a chance to appreciate our students, parents, staff, and community members. I am so inspired by everyone who is on this journey with me. Catholic education is so vital to the moral development of our young people. Each day we are able to treat others the way we want to be treated, accept each other despite our differences, celebrate our successes, admit our failings and know that they are an opportunity to improve. I ask that you continue to spread the word about our great school.
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our annual Academic Night on Thursday, January 31st at 6 pm. The students are working very hard on research projects that they want to share with you. Please consider bringing a prospective family with you. As in the past any family that you refer who enrolls will benefit you with a $300 discount on your tuition bill.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us. As always, I hope that you all have a safe and restful weekend filled with lots of family time.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
