Good afternoon everyone. I hope that you are all enjoying the calm before the storm. As this winter storm approaches please remember to take care and travel safely if you have to be out. Remember that in case of school closing we follow the Milton Public Schools. If they're cancelled so is St. Mary of the Hills.
Word continues to spread about our great school. Almost every day I am giving tours and testing new students for entrance now and next fall. Please continue to help market us by visiting our website and giving us a review. It would be appreciated so much.
I have been fortunate to receive support from the Milton Public School system to support students who by law are entitled to Special Education services. This week a Special education teacher joined our school community to provide these supports. Her name is Amanda and she is being paid by the Town of Milton.
I have been reviewing the results of the recent Winter NWEA/Maps assessments and our students are showing tremendous growth in so many areas. This is because we have make some strategic improvements on curriculum and instruction. The addition of the Literacy and Math coaches has helped so much.
Back in the fall Mrs. Hughes purchased a 3D printer for the school. Today a specialist worked with the 6th graders to introduce the product and show them all it is capable of. He will be conducting separate training sessions for the staff. I am so excited to be able to offer this incredible technology to our students. It will help prepared them for the future and inspire them to possibly consider pursuing a career in engineering.
Please mark your calendars for our annual Academic Night on Thursday, January 31st at 6pm. The students are working very hard on research projects that they want to share with you. Please consider bringing a prospective family with you. As in the past any family that you refer who enrolls will benefit you with a $300 discount on your tuition bill.
A copy of the Catholic Schools week calendar went home today. Please check out some of the events that we have planned for your children. Also, we are offering a 7 week summer camp for students in the Early Childhood Center. Brochures went home with the little ones today. We have more in the office if you know of anyone looking for a summer program.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful children with us. As always, I hope that you all have a safe and restful long weekend filled with lots of family time.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
