Principal's Update - 1/11/19
I hope that you are all enjoying this very chilly day. Now that the frigid temps are here I want to remind you to dress your children for the outdoor weather. If temperatures are above freezing we will be having outdoor recess. Getting fresh air is important and I want to make sure the students are comfortable. Of course this comes with another dilemma and that is the Lost and Found. I have many articles of clothing that students have left behind. If your missing something please come in and check what we have.
This past week the 2nd through 5th graders took their Winter NWEA/MAPS assessments. I was very pleased that a majority of the students showed tremendous growth. The teachers and I will be analyzing all of this data to see areas where we can improve instruction, offer supports, and provide enrichment. 6th through 8th graders will be taking their assessments the week after next week's midterms.
Fr. Michael came to visit with the 6th and 7th graders about supporting each other as brothers and sisters, setting goals for their future, and being aware of the dangers of social media. He will be meeting with the 8th graders next Friday afternoon. We appreciate his time and dedication to the faith formation of our students.
There has been a lot of recent interest in our school. I have been giving tours almost daily. Thank you for helping spread the word about our wonderful school and rich academic and social programs.
I hope that you enjoy the rest of the weekend with your awesome children.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
