Today Pope Francis tweeted the following ~ "Loving God means serving our neighbor without reserve, and trying to forgive without limits." This quote sums up what we are trying to accomplish here at St Mary of the Hills. Students, teachers, and staff are being generous with their time, talents, and financial contributions to serve those less fortunate in our communities. This being the year of mercy we are all asked to forgive each other sincerely and often. This past week I was on retreat with other principals and we were reminded that our mercy is unlimited and we should give it freely and without strings attached. At the retreat I prayed for all of you , your children, our wonderful school, and those less fortunate. I do not like being away from the school but this retreat was nourishing to my soul and gave me a chance to step back and appreciate all that I have been blessed with.
Today we ended our week with a school mass hosted by the 5th graders. Fr. Michael was our celebrant. He told us the 3 most important words to remember are the "God is Good." and to "Shine our lights brightly in the lives of others." It was a wonderful celebration of life and joy. Thank you Grade 5, Mrs. Norton, Mrs. Etienne, Mrs. Vasta, and Fr. Michael!
Please plan to join us for our Annual Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 10th at 6:30 in the Church. The students and their teachers have been working hard all year to prepare to brighten your holiday.
Also, the Middle School drama production is on Friday, December 14th at 7pm in the school hall. It is sure to get you in the spirit of Christmas!
Enjoy time with your beautiful families this weekend.
