Principal's Update - 11/30/18

Dear Families,

It's difficult to believe that tomorrow is December 1st. I don't know about you but I feel that the school year is flying by! December promises to be a very busy month. Please check your email communication often and see the school calendar for some of our traditional celebrations.

This Sunday December 2nd is the beginning of the Church's liturgical year, Advent (from, "ad-venire" in Latin or "to come to") is the season encompassing the four Sundays (and weekdays) leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ's second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord's birth on Christmas. The final days of Advent focus particularly on our preparation for the celebrations of the Nativity of our Lord. I will be celebrating each week of Advent with a prayer service every Monday morning in the school hall.

So many great things are happening here every day. The children and staff are working on many service projects. We recognize that this time of year can be very difficult for some people and we are doing our best to offer comfort by donating our time, talents, and consumables to make life easier for some. The students are writing letters and cards for the Shattuck Shelter, doing daily food collections, preparing to enrich us with music at our upcoming concert, and so much more. I am also witness to many of our own families paying it forward by anonymously helping each other through word and deed.

Thank you for respecting my requests to follow the safe drop-off and pickup routines that we have established. I know that we are not in the easiest location but if we all do our part we won't have any trouble.

Enjoy time with your beautiful families this weekend.

God Bless,

Mrs. Julie Marotta
