Principal's Update - 6/1/18
Somehow we have arrived at June 1st! This year has really flown by. Your children have grown and developed academically and socially and it has been very rewarding to witness. This week I was able to attend the 4th Grade State's Fair. The students really knew their states and shared such interesting facts. I was so impressed.
Our Odyssey of the Mind teams spent part of last week in Iowa competing in World Finals. The 4/5th grade team placed 15 out of 70! The 8th grade team placed 36 out of 70 and the 7th grade 40 out of 75. The students and parents worked so hard to make this happen. I am so proud of all of them. The students made new friends from around the world. What an incredible experience. A special thank you to Mrs. Banach for taking the lead on this.
Our Conservation Club under the direction of Miss Veitz has done a great job renovating the Labyrinth. This is a peaceful spot where teachers can bring their students for prayer and reflection. I am s pleased that the club recognized a need and acted upon it. Well done!
Yesterday I got to attend the Grade 3 versus Grade 4 Math Bee. Boy do these students know their multiplication facts! There will be another Bee in September so keep practicing over the summer!
Today our 7th and 8th graders were treated to an ice cream party today be Catholic Charities for bringing in the most food items for the food drive. Thank you Catholic Charities for recognizing our students!
Our 2nd graders celebrated their collaborative work with a Publishing Party this afternoon. They wrote and illustrated their own poems and had their book published. What a proud moment for them and their teachers.
Thank you to some very special 3rd Grade students who wanted to raise money for Autism awareness. The $230 raised from the dress down day will go directly to the Flutie Foundation.
Next week is our Spring Concert. Musicians please bring your instruments on Monday AND Tuesday!
I hope that you all enjoy a relaxing and fun filled long weekend with your beautiful families.
