Principal's Update - 5/25/18
First of all let me send a sincere thank you to the PTO for a fantastic night of food, friendship, dancing, and fun. It was also bittersweet as we celebrated the retirement of our beloved Pastor Father Wright. For the past 16 years
Father Wright has been a huge supporter of St Mary of the Hills School. He loves the students and faculty and the feeling is mutual. He will be missed. His last official day is May 31st but he will be celebrating 8th grade graduation and the end of school mass on June 15th.
I have had a chance to analyze the NWEA/MAPS test data for Grades 2-8 and am happy to report that our school is above district level in many areas.
I am already working on next year. There will be many exciting changes. Spanish will be taught in Grades 1-8 and a Literacy Coach will be available for grades K-8. The Middle School will be grades 6-8 and subject area specialists will be teaching Mathematics, History, Language Arts/Reading, and Science. I am very excited about the changes since they are made in order to strengthen our academics to an even higher level.
We ended the week with our annual Field Day celebration. Thank you to Mr. A, the staff, and all of the parent and alumni volunteers. This day is always the highlight of the school year. The weather could not have been better.
I hope that you all enjoy a relaxing and fun filled long weekend with your beautiful families.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
