Principal's Update - 5/11/18
I am so proud of our entire school community for all f the generous contributions to the food pantry at Catholic Charities of Greater Boston. I know you know what I am going to say but I truly believe that together we can make such a difference! This organization serves so many needy families and our contributions were able to fill more than 100 bags for distribution. We have so much to be proud of.
The 5th Graders, their teachers, Mrs. Norton, Mrs. Deabler, and alum Thalia Etienne enjoyed a beautiful day in Boston this past week. They were able to take a Duck Tour free of charge thanks to 5th Grader Fiona Deabler and our generous PTO.
Last Friday the 1st and 2nd graders enjoyed their field trips too. They had terrific educational experiences and are grateful for the PTO support and parent generosity.
On Tuesday night I attended the 5th Grade Multi-genre night. I was honored to learn about so many famous people and places. The students and their teachers did a great job!
Many other field trips and retreats are planned as the year winds down. There will also be opportunities to come in to see student presentations in other grades.
On Thursday we Pre-K through 8th Grade students prayed a decade of the rosary in the school hall and them processed very reverently to the church to celebrate Ascension Thursday. The 3rd graders and their teachers led us all in prayer. They did such a great job preparing the liturgy.
May 19th is our Gala! We will be celebrating the school's 60th anniversary and Fr. Wright's retirement.
Mr. A's annual Field Day is right around the corner. I know that the students are really looking forward to it. Let's pray for a warm, sunny day.
In closing, please keep Mrs. Mary Jane Campbell, a parishioner and former member of our staff, in your thoughts and prayers. Thursday morning May 3, 2018 her almost 2 year old grandson was found unresponsive and later died. A memorial celebration was held at St Mary of the Hills Church on Thursday, May 10th. As you can imagine she and her family are devastated and need emotional and spiritual support at this most difficult time. Thank you in advance for storming Heaven for little Danny Campbell.
I hope that you all enjoy a relaxing and fun filled vacation with your beautiful families.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
