Principal's Update - 4/27/18
So much to be thankful for this week! The Middle school students participated in the school's annual Science Fair on Tuesday. The winning students went on to compete in the Regional completion on Wednesday night and I am proud to say that our own 8th grader Claire MacDonald tied for 3rd place! Well done Claire! Thank you to Mrs. Etienne and Miss Veitz for preparing our students so well.
Thursday morning Mr. Healy for the Boston Duck Tours came by to award 2 of our students with awards for their essay submissions. John Elson Hicks in Grade 6 was honored as winning 2nd place. Way to go John Elson! Fiona Deabler in Grade 5 won 1st place and earned a Duck Tour Field Trip for the entire 5th grade! Great Job Fiona! Our students were recognized out of hundreds of submissions and I couldn't be more proud. Thank you Mrs. Norton for the opportunity!
Today Mr. Fulton and Mr. Southall from Catholic Charities presented our students with an opportunity to help those less fortunate in our communities. We are asking families to donate very specific food items throughout the next week. All food collected will go to the Food Pantry in Boston and will be distributed to families with great need. As I always say together as a school community we can do great things. I sent a separate email out detailing needs by grade level. Thank you in advance for your support.
Please make sure to mark your calendars for the next social events that the PTO is organizing. Tonight, April 27th eat dinner or order takeout from Pizzeria Uno. Proceeds from this event directly benefit our students. May 19th is our Gala! We will be celebrating the school's 60th anniversary and Fr. Wright's retirement.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at our 7th annual Walk for Haiti on Sunday at 9am!
I hope that you all enjoy a relaxing and fun filled vacation with your beautiful families.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
