This week was packed with so many meaningful activities. I was privileged to witness Contraction Surgery in the 2nd grade. If you haven't seen the pictures check out our Facebook page. The students were so excited to practice making contractions through this innovative lesson. It's one that they will always remember. 3rd and 4th graders are working hard on learning their math facts through a grant we received. This grant enables the students to practice multiplication and division facts through a program called Reflex Math. I am so impressed with their accomplishments.
As I type this letter to you 2 beautiful 1st Graders delivered an Easter basket to me filled with chocolates and religious stickers. I am very lucky!
Thank you to the 5th graders and Mrs. Etienne for organizing and collecting school supplies for a Catholic school in Dominica. The barrel was overflowing and picked up for shipment yesterday. Giving back is such an important thing to do as Christians. I am so proud of how our students and all of the families in our school community embrace that concept.
I have heard some exciting news from my Middle School related to writing that I am unable to publicize yet. When I do you will be as proud as I am! Our 8th Graders are preparing to travel to Washington, D.C. in a couple of weeks. I know that they are getting excited.
On Wednesday the 3rd Graders reenacted the Last Supper for their families. The students were so reverent and did a wonderful job. It was such a moving experience for me personally. Thank you to Miss King, Mrs. Duffy for preparing the children so well!
Today the 4th Graders reenacted the Stations of the Cross for Grades 1-8 and their families. I always looked forward to this every year as a teacher. Today I was a very proud principal! Thank you to Mrs. Joyce, Mrs. Faherty and Mrs. Fedewa for preparing the students!
Mrs. Vasta asked me to remind everyone to return your Mite boxes after vacation.
I wish you all a Blessed Easter and lots of precious time with your beautiful families.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
