We had a very productive but HOT week here at St Mary of the Hills! Thank you to the dedicated teachers who taught in those hot classrooms without complaining. Educating your children is always our top priority.
Today was a dress down day to benefit Dominica. Mrs. Etienne and other families affected by the devastation of that beautiful island expressed gratitude to the students for initiating this fundraiser. Over $500 was collected. Mrs. Etienne said to say Thank You!
We will be doing another one on October 20th for the people of Puerto Rico.
This past Sunday I had the best car wash I ever received by our 8th graders. They had many satisfied customers and collected quite a bit of money to put towards their trip to Washington, DC.
A special shot out to Abigail Raymond for persuading me to purchase a water dispenser for the 1st floor. It was part of her National Junior Honor Society speech! Also, a big thank you to Mr. Hicks, John Elson and Sophia Rose's Dad. He took time out of his busy day to come to the aid of Xion Rondo's grandfather when he experienced car trouble after school.
Wednesday the 7th and 8th grade students started their retreat day at Mass followed by a trip to Treetop Adventures in Canton. This was a great team building experience as the students encouraged each other and their teachers to tackle incredible tasks through rope courses and zip lining. This is a day that they won't soon forget.
Please take some time and ask your students to tell you about all the great things they are doing in school. They are definitely experiencing a rigorous academic program in a safe and nurturing way and lots of opportunities for social development.
The deadline to register for the Color Fun Run is fast approaching! Don't miss out on the fantastic event!!!! The first class that reaches 100% registration will get a prize from me!
Thank you to all of the families that paid their PTO fee. Those who have not will be receiving a reminder letter next week. Please know that without your support field trips, cultural arts programs, and extra enhancements to our student experience cannot happen without you!
I hope that you all have a safe and restful weekend filled with lots of family time.
