Principal's Update - 9/8/17
We had our 1st full week of the school year. Partnering with you in educating your child is a responsibility that we take seriously. We hope that the beginning of this year has met or exceeded your expectations.
This week I was lucky enough to spend time in so many classrooms seeing all of the great learning that is taking place. Students are engaged in so many ways from hands on science, classroom debates and discussions, learning about their world, tackling rigorous math problems, learning about God, being physically active, singing, creating, and being respect to one another. The quality of instruction is incredible and the students feel safe and secure.
I am sure that you have noticed the repairs made to the back parking lot. Thank you to the generous donations of some of our families we were able to make this improvement. It is now a safer place for the students to play.
The lunch program is off to a wonderful start. Thank you to our incredible and dedicated PTO Board and parent volunteers for piloting this new program. The lunch selections are varied and healthy and the students love the cool new blue trays. Also, thank you for the Meet and Greet this morning. What a nice way to start the day!
I have a couple of reminders regarding safety. Please do not pull into the school parking lot between the following times: 8:30-9:00 am and 2:50-3:15 pm. This protects the students as they walk to school in the morning and as they are dismissed. Their safety is my top priority.
Also, please park along Brook Road for drop off. Double stopping to let your child out is an accident waiting to happen. No U-Turns are allowed on Brook Road and please do not park on the cross walks. Again this is all done to protect the students and their families.
Thank you to the 8th Graders and their teachers for preparing the Opening School Mass. You did a wonderful job and made us all very proud.
I hope that you all have a safe and restful weekend filled with lots of family time.
