Can you believe it's May? I can't! As I look ahead to the next few weeks I am amazed by how much is happening. It seems that just when softball, baseball, and soccer begin and the daylight lasts until 7:30, school events increase too. I encourage you to make an effort to come by and celebrate your child's accomplishments. I have been seeing the works in progress and am very impressed!
Thanks once again for your support on the Science fundraiser. The ECC students had the awesome experience of a visit from the New England Aquarium! The educator that came here was so knowledgeable and worked so well with the students. She brought many sea creatures from tide pools that the students could investigate and touch. This experience tied in so well with the entire Science curriculum that the teachers have been working on in their classrooms. The students, teachers, and I are very grateful to all of you.
Please keep the 8th Graders, Mrs. Banach, Mrs. Ruggiero, and me in your thoughts and prayers as we embark on a road trip to Washington, DC. We leave on a bus May 5th at 4am. Our tour guide will be taking us to all of the amazing sites like the Arlington National Cemetery, Iwo Jima, Lincoln, Vietnam and Korean Memorials, the US Capital Building, US Supreme Court, a Tour INSIDE the White House, Museum of African American History, Mass at the Cathedral, and much more.
The GALA is quickly approaching. I hope that you have marked your calendars for Saturday, May 13th. The Committee has been working so hard to make this a fun evening for our community. It is the biggest fundraiser of the year and all proceeds go to our students for their education and enrichment.
The annual Walk for Haiti will be on Sunday, May 21st. The first 150 walkers will receive a free T-shirt with their donation. Help spread the word. It would be great to see many of alums participate!
Please enjoy this coming weekend with your family!
Mrs. Julie Marotta
