Principal's Update 4/7/17
This week the 6, 7th, and 8th graders had a visit from Sister Mary. Once again I will tell you about Sister. She is a retired Sister of Saint Joseph who lives on campus at Fontbonne Academy. She shared her faith with the students as they prayed the Stations of the Cross. Sister was impressed with how faith filled our students were and how well taught in the Catholic faith. They asked a lot of great questions. They made the teachers and me very proud.
Today the 6th through 8th graders went to the church and made their sacrament of penance. They were very reverent and respectful. As I said last week, forgiveness is so healing. We must all learn to forgive each other always and treat others the way we'd like to be treated. Wouldn't our world be a much happier place?
I just returned from the Boston Symphony with some special 4th, 5th, and 6th graders who met my Principal Challenge in the Fall. We had a wonderful time together listening to the incredible talent of the musicians. I was so proud of our students. They were so attentive and respectful. It was an honor for me to spend this special time with them. Some said they could not sleep last night. They were so excited!
On Wednesday Neil Nichols visited our school. He is a world famous History teacher and artist. He ran 3 shows for us. Kindergarten through Grade 2 learned about New England and the Pilgrims. Grades 3-5 experienced the USA History Show and Grades 6-8 did the World map Challenge. We were so fortunate to have this experience. It was a day that he students will not soon forget!
I hope to see many of you this weekend. The Middle School students are performing in their Spring musical at the Pierce Middle School tonight and tomorrow night at 7pm. It will be great! Also, the PTO is hosting a fundraising concert on Sunday at Fontbonne Academy at 3pm. You might recognize one of the flutists! Please come and show your support!
Please check the April calendar for all of the monthly events!
As always I hope that you have a fun weekend filled with family time and moments that you will always treasure.
Mrs. Julie Marotta
