NWEA Student Testing
Together with you, St. Mary of the Hills School is committed to strengthening our school community and providing an academically rigorous, faith-filled education for your children.
We will be once again utilizing an educational assessment leader that is a not-for-profit organization called NWEA. The Measures of Academies Progress, or MAPS tests, are completely online and designed to measure a student’s individual growth. The data is available immediately to the educators which gives them the ability to differentiate their instruction to meet the academic needs of their students. The MAPS assessments focus on student’s academic achievement in Mathematics, reading, and language usage.
Students will be assessed three times during the school year; the fall, winter, and spring. Students in Grades 2-8 will complete all three areas of academics. Through these adaptive and individualized tests, we can tailor the learning environment to better meet the needs of the students.
Please see the schedule for the Fall testing window. Thank you for partnering with us this year! Your child’s education is a family and school commitment that I take very seriously.
