Grade 4 Mass

Dear St. Mary of the Hills Family,

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a joyful Christmas vacation. It was wonderful to see everyone back at school. Our celebration of the birth of Jesus continued. On Friday, we marked an important day in our Catholic faith as we celebrated the Feast of Epiphany at a beautiful Mass hosted by the fourth-grade class. We want to thank Miss Newell for preparing her students so well.

Epiphany comes from the Greek word meaning to “reveal”. In addition, the solemnity of the feast celebrates Christ's revelation to mankind. Students learned about the story of Jesus Christ being the Light of the World. He was born to take away the sin of the world, as God's glory appears in human form.

This past week we celebrated the life of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. He had a long vocation of service to our Church and we pray that he rests in peace and is united with God in heaven.

Please see the calendar below for important upcoming events. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, you can reach me by phone, email, or come in to see me at school.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Suzanne Banach
Principal
