Thanksgiving Feast

Dear St. Mary of the Hills Families:

The Season of Thanksgiving has filled the air at St. Mary of the Hills School. The middle school student council and their advisor, Mrs. Ieronimo would like to thank everyone who supported the Thanksgiving Food drive to benefit those in need. It was a huge success!

Stewardship is our theme for the school year, and students, parents, and guardians have been sharing their time, talent, and treasure with those in need and with our school community. There is so much to be thankful for.

On Monday and Tuesday, the ECC and grades 1-5 students filled the cafeteria and enjoyed their Thanksgiving celebrations. These celebrations wouldn't have been possible without our wonderful teachers and parents coming together to make this day special for our students. It was beautiful to see and hear the children enjoying one another's company.

As a Catholic school principal, I am thankful for so many things. First, I am thankful for the opportunity to share my faith and serve in a role that helps bring children closer to God. I have a profound gratitude to be able to work in a school where we begin and end each day with prayer. For this I am thankful.

I am thankful to work with an amazing group of teachers and staff who have always put our students first. It is a wonderful feeling to see so many individuals going above and beyond in helping our students fully develop spiritually, socially, and academically.

I am thankful for our school community. We have wonderful leadership in our new PTO who have answered the call to help our school provide many community events for our families and children. In addition, we have a dedicated group of parents who give their time to ensure that our lunch program runs smoothly. For this I am thankful.

Finally, I am thankful for our beautiful students. It was a gift to be able to spend time with them this week and share in their Thanksgiving festivities. I was moved with joy when the first-grade students sang the most beautiful song about God. At that moment, I forgot about all the little things that needed to get done by the end of the day, and I enjoyed their gift of song. Their smiles, innocence, and unconditional love reinforce that peace and happiness can exist in our world. For this I am thankful.

On behalf of our faculty and staff of St. Mary of the Hills School, I wish a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving to all of our families and friends.

Mrs. Suzanne Banach

Thanksgiving Prayer--In this season of gratitude and abundance, we give You thanks for our many blessings as we pray for all who struggle with hunger and want. Be with them in the dark of night. When all hope seems lost, keep their faith strong as they await relief. Let Your goodness flow throughout our hearts and hands as we reach out to one another in the full, true joy of Thanksgiving in Christ. Amen
