“Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures.” —John F. Kennedy

Dear Parents and Guardians:

This week we had our first field trip of the year. Kindergarten, First and Second grades visited Ward Berry Farm. It was a great opportunity for fun and learning. Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who volunteered to chaperone. Usually, each grade has at least one field trip, so look forward to many other classes going on field trips for fun and learning outside of the classroom.

Wednesday morning coffee hour was well attended. Our new PTO president, Rudy Denis, had the opportunity to introduce himself to many parents. There was a lot of energy in the air and we believe the PTO is off to a great start. Parents shared some great ideas on how to make our PTO a success this year. Please look out for emails from Mr. Denis inviting you to the first PTO meeting. This meeting will be virtual. We are still in need of a PTO treasurer. If you are interested in this position, please contact Rudy Denis or myself.

PTO Secretary

A big thank you to Maureen Watson and Debbie Laguerre for volunteering to fill the PTO secretary position. We are grateful for them stepping up to co-chair the position.

Trunk or Treat

Thank you to all parents and guardians who have sent in candy for the Trunk or Treat event on Sunday, October 30 from 2:00 to 4:00. Maureen Watson, (mom to Tori in 5th Grade), has agreed to be the homeroom liaison. She will coordinate with all homeroom parents to get information out regarding any school events. She has also volunteered to help coordinate our PTO-sponsored Trunk or Treat. If you have any questions regarding the event, you may email Mrs. Watson or Mrs. Paris - [email protected] or [email protected].

We are still in need of volunteers to provide their decorated vehicles for the event. Our middle school students will be hosting some fun games and activities for the children. Please email Mrs. Paris and let her know you will enter your decorated "trunk"!

7th/8th Grade CYO Basketball

CYO basketball practice is underway. Coach A has been busy preparing the boys for the season. Parents and guardians should email Mr. A with any questions or concerns regarding games and practices. His email address is [email protected].

5th/6th Grade Intramural Basketball

We are offering basketball skills and intramural basketball classes starting on Tuesday, November 1st through November 29th. The class will meet after school from 3:00 to 4:30 on Tuesdays. I want to thank Miss O' Leary who agreed to teach this class alongside her brother Danny O'Leary. Information will be sent home with students very soon.

Music Program

Our Band is underway and meets on Mondays after school. Piano Lessons are offered on Fridays after school. If your child is interested in taking music lessons, please see Mrs. Paris.

If you are interested in purchasing Spiritwear, please contact Mrs. McNally at [email protected]. Spiritwear may be worn on designated Spirit Days. Also, the hoodies are approved for everyday use.
