Adjustment Counselor

As of the 2021-2022 school year, a new school Adjustment Counselor has been hired at St. Mary of the Hills. Ms. Kiah Coflin received her master’s degree in School Counseling (licensed K-12) from Boston College. Ms. Coflin’s focus is supporting the school community and all its members as we continue to work together, adjusting and growing into the greatest version of ourselves.

As a school counselor, Ms. Coflin is a member of both the Massachusetts School Counselor’s Association (MASCA) and the American School Counselor’s Association (ASCA), whose model acts as the framework for the profession. ASCA’s National Model highlights three areas of focus: academic, college/career, and social/emotional support. Under this model, a series of professional and ethical standards inform program creation and implementation. Together, school counselors aim to equip students with the coping skills and information they need to confront academic challenges and life’s’ setbacks. Wanting to see each student develop an overall sense of wellness, Ms. Coflin works with each teacher to provide personalized and appropriate supports for the students of St. Mary’s of the Hills.
